20 Fenchurch St Legacy Fund
Since 2015, Liberty has been a member of the 20 Fenchurch Street Legacy Fund (20FSLF) which manages a collaborative fund to provide grants to improve the employment prospects of people living in some of the most disadvantaged communities on our doorstep in East London.
This Fund is administered by the East End Community Foundation who receive applications from local community projects and manage the process for reviewing them and convening the 20FSLF Grants Panel.
We’re proud to have donated £20k towards the fund this year, which has supported projects including the following:
A training course open to unemployed adults in Hackney, many of whom have been out of work for a long period of time or who have experienced barriers to employment such as a criminal record.
Beckton Skills Centre
support at-risk young people to develop functional skills, gain an accreditation in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and start an apprenticeship or a job
“Well Grounded” project
to deliver their barista training supporting adults to gain qualifications and access to work experience and employment within the coffee industry
Well Grounded gave me a community. It gave me exposure to people with different life experiences and we learnt so much from each other. I have taken the skill to talk to anyone regardless of how different they are... For me, Well Grounded gave me happiness. It was a place to reflect and help me to become a happier person.” Samira, Well Grounded Participant
